Snow Storm: Get Your Panic On

Category: Features

So it’s no surprise that in New Jersey in the winter it snows. So I have a question which I long for someday to get an answer to. Besides from weather men having to lose their jobs or at least be scolded when the induce fear into millions of people by telling them to “duck for cover, a HUGE snowstorm is going to pummel the Northeast!” causing everyone to cancel their hair appointments, not go to school, not workout, and pretty much hibernate in their homes and await the snowfall that often never comes!

Now let’s preface this by talking about how when there is talk of snowfall or a hug snowstorm everyone runs to Home Depot and buys every single shovel in stock along with ALL the melting salt in preparation for this natural disaster. I mean come on people dont you own a shovel or melting salt that stays in your garage all the time? WE LIVE IN NEW JERSEY! UPDATE: it snows in the winter! there is no need to panic and clean out the Home Depot and leave no supplies for the poor shlub who now has to dig up snow with his or her bare hands (well thats an exaggeration, but you get the point!) And let’s not even discuss the supermarket. Every loaf of bread, every gallon of milk, all the cheese and eggs are gone due to the panic stricken masses who are lead to believe that the town is going to be blanketed under a huge pile of snow. So my message to you is simply this: Panic creates more panic, be prepared for snow if you live in a place that gets cold in the winter. If we were living in Miami, this would not be an issue. Leave bread, shovels, and milk for the other folks!
